We Are All Working Moms: Embrace Your Status & Embrace Others, Too! Motherhood

I've never met a mother, who with good intentions, wasn’t working overtime. We are all working moms. That’s why I think as a new mom, you should do as you chose. I personally chose to keep a career outside of home. Was it hard with babies? You bet! Did I want to quit? Absolutely! That is until I saw my stay-at-home mom friend cry her eyes out with no escape in sight. I began to realize that regardless of my chosen career path, I was no better or no worse off than the mom who stayed at home with her kids.

I began to appreciate the stay-at-home mom. I even apologized to my own. I also began to let go of my own guilt. We are all juggling, we all work late (round the clock!) and we all deserve some time to ourselves. I applaud the mother who can teach her kids at home, the mom who works and travels, and the mom who keeps it all together.

I encourage you to embrace your current status. Those kids are fine! Regardless of what career decisions we make, or what life throws at us for us to be forced to be in one shoe or the other, moms are working! I encourage you to love your choice and the choices of your friends. Be there and let them be there for you. Your kids love you.
