Winter Crafts: How to Make Watercolor Snowflakes With Your Kids!

Looking for a fun activity to do with your kids this winter? Make watercolor snowflake arts and crafts!

You'll need:

  • watercolor paper
  • blue watercolor paint
  • kosher salt
  • glue
  • scissors
  • snowflake punch out

Here's how to make it:

  1. Paint a sheet of watercolor paper generously with several shades of blue liquid watercolor paint.
  2. While it is still wet (very important), sprinkle flakes of salt all around. Coarse kosher salt makes for the most dramatic results. Let dry for about 15 minutes.
  3. Make snowflakes with a snowflake punch out. Glue to paper and trim off any that extends over the edge.

Extra large punch creates a 2.5-inch shape.
