3 Ways Using Sign Language Can Benefit Your Baby!

Baby Sign Language lets babies communicate using manual signs, most taken from American Sign Language (ASL). Using signs allows Baby to verbalize needs. Signing may produce:

  • larger vocabulary
  • advanced mental development
  • advanced comprehension

Baby sign may reduce aggression and problematic behavior because Baby is better able to express needs. It may improve parent-child relationships, help parents become more responsive and observant of Baby. Babies can learn simple signs such as “eat,” “sleep," "more," "hug," "play" and "milk.” Each individual may develop the ability to sign at various stages in his or her growth.
