Does your toddler throw a tantrum or give you push-back when wrapping up an activity such as reading books? I have found a better way to communicate rather than abruptly ending the activity. 

I first let him know exactly what we are going to do. For example: "We are going to read two books." I then have him answer a question or repeat the information back to me: "How many books are we going to read?" to make sure he understands. This causes less surprises and more happy endings.
