Snack Time for Kids, Break Time for Mom: How to Create a Healthy Snack Drawer for Kids to Access On Their Own! by Elisa Schmitz

Are your growing kids always saying, "Mom! I'm hungry, I want a snack!" but they're perfectly capable of getting one themselves? Been there, done that, and I have a solution for you!

In my refrigerator, I keep a drawer filled with healthy snacks. It has everything from fruit and cheese to yogurt and cut up veggies, ready to go. They can reach in there anytime and grab something, then pair it with baked chips or nuts, etc. It's empowering for them to make healthy choices on their own, and best of all, you get to take a break! Try it and see what happens!

Great idea! Especially with summer coming it's going to feel like they are gonna be hungry all the time.

Thank you, Meredith Schneider! I try to do this year-round - it's especially helpful for after-school snacks!
