Invite a Monster to Dinner (It May Help Your Kids Eat Healthier)!

There are lots of ways to get kids to eat fruits and vegetables. But I tend to avoid hiding them and tricking my kids. I want my children to learn to enjoy (or at least tolerate) healthy foods. So I offer choices and make it fun!

One of their favorite ways to eat salad is when I say, "It's Monster Time!" I put out a variety of salad ingredients and the boys get to create a terribly tasty monster face. It's fun to add different colors of "slime" (salad dressing) and almost all of the salad gets eaten.

I love those bad guy monsters who help my kids build good eating habits!

Great idea, Elizabeth Pagel-Hogan . My daughter did that with my grandson, like this pancake with an apple face. Make it fun, and they will eat it (hopefully!). Ashlee Smith
