Tired of your kids whining for you to constantly buy stuff while traveling? Give them their own spending money! 

I came up with this idea to help eliminate constant arguing and hurt feelings. I explained that, within reason, they could buy what they wish; but, there would not be more money given when it was spent. Each child became more selective in purchases, and it's become a fun game for our road trips.

I am now "banker," tracking balances for them. Surprisingly, they are saving more than they are spending! It's a fun way to teach responsibility with money and I'm headache free!
