Military Deployment: A Fun Way to the Ease Pain of Family Separation

As a military wife and mom, I'm always prepared for deployments. These long periods having your loved one away are hard on adults, and even harder on kids. While watching family separations happen to quite a few families lately, I thought of a cute way to assure kids that their deployed parent is thinking of them while he/she is away.

My idea? Parent and child can get matching watches and set an alarm on both to go off at the same time each day. At those times, children are certain to be thinking of their parent and their parent is certainly thinking of their child, too!

Love this idea Heather Travitz ! Fellow military wife and mom here of an Iraq Veteran, with 5 deployments prior to Iraq. My son who was two at the time he was in Iraq always looked forward to Sundays when we would see Daddy on the computer with the webcam. But broke his heart and mine on the Sundays he couldn't webcam with us. This watch idea would of been perfect for those days. Love ya! xoxo
