Want Your Kids to Hear You? Then Stop Doing So Much of This...

Ever wonder why your kids don't listen to you? One possibility is that you talk too much! Research shows that kids start to tune us out after only seven words. That may not seem like a lot of time to get your point across! So what's a parent to do? 

Talk less. A lot less!

Instead of giving a full explanation, try to limit your response to one word. For example, if your son forgot to take out the trash, just say, "Trash" and nothing else. Don't worry, he'll get the message!
