First Day of School: When It Comes to Kids, No Two Goodbyes Are the Same by Angie Mozilo

It's tough to send our children off to their firsts, whether it's the first day of kindergarten or the first day of college. We feel a separation and angst about it. If we have more than one child, we feel it with each of them – but often differently. It's OK to not feel exactly the same emotion for each child's firsts.
Just like each child is an individual, our relationship with them is individual, too. We may have a more fearful angst with one, a grieving angst with another and still an excited angst with another. It's normal. When we send them off, no two goodbyes are the same!
