You’d think school lunch preparation would be a no-brainer, yet it’s one of those tasks that parents often find to be a pain in the butt. What to include? How do I make it healthy? How do I get them to eat everything? How can I get it made before it's time to head out the door?
First, give yourself a break. You can simplify and still provide your kids with a healthy lunch. For example, several brands offer pre-packaged starters with meat and cheese, which provide protein. Add sliced apples, a granola bar and school-bought milk and you’ve got a balanced lunch in a lot less time than it takes to construct a sandwich.
