Buh-Bye, Summer Slide: Do This Activity for 10 Minutes a Day & Keep Summer Slide Away by Margaret Steck

I know the last word any kid wants to hear during summer break is “homework,” but it’s a good idea to keep your kids thinking a little bit about what they’ve learned over the past school year. That little bit of homework each day can help kids avoid “summer slide,” and it makes for a much easier transition for the next grade.
I buy my kids grade-appropriate activity books that include math and reading exercises and ask that they complete two pages a day, which usually only takes about 10 minutes. Once they’re done, they’re free to go about doing what they want for the rest of the day!
