Stand Up to Bullying: How to Teach Your Kids the Power of a Bystander

It's essential to teach children starting in the elementary years about the power of the bystander. Bystanders play a key component in the act of bullying. If they don't intervene in the bullying situation, they actually equip the bully with positive feedback, which encourages the bullying behavior.

  • Explain the importance of standing on the side of the victim to your children.
  • Most importantly, to make sure your children will be prepared when this situation arises, role play realistic scenarios.

Just think: Your children can create positive change in the lives of others. Priceless!
