Pretend Play: Let Kids Get Creative By Making a Dress-up Drawer!

Kids love to play dress-up, and there's a way to make it even more fun and easy. Empty a low dresser drawer for children's dress-up items. For my grandchildren, I added:

  • scarves
  • purses
  • costume jewelry
  • makeup brushes
  • hats
  • heels

Hit the big box or dollar store for "beauty" items like ribbons, bows and barrettes, as well as inexpensive makeup brushes and sponges. My grand-daughter runs to the drawer as soon as she comes over. "Let's play dress-up, Nonni!" she says. And, of course, I'm always available!
