Children & Anxiety: 6 Signs That Your Kid May Be Suffering From Anxiety

With the school year back underway, children are learning to adjust to new schedules, social distancing measures or even full-time online learning at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. Large changes like these may impact a child's mental health, leading to increased anxiety. Are you concerned your child may be suffering from anxiety?

According to Anxiety.org, here are several signs your child may be suffering:

  • Increased agitation and restlessness.
  • Inattention and poor focus.
  • Headaches or stomach aches.
  • Avoidance.
  • Increased tantrums and crying.
  • Refusing to go to school or meltdowns when getting ready to go to school.

If you are seeing these signs more frequently and consistently, it may be time to speak with your child’s health-care provider, such as a nurse practitioner (NP), who can help determine the best course of action for your child.
