Lenten Sacrifice for Transformation: Self-Discovery to Serve Others Starting On Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. If you practice, remember that the sacrifice/change you make is meant to cause transformation.

  • If you choose to abstain from a certain food, recall those who always have to go with less and make a change to help them in some way.
  • If you choose to abstain from cursing, recall those who have anger management issues or those who are victims of another's rage and find a way to help them.

Look within through your practice and then open your perspective back out to help others.

This is so wonderful, Melissa Hurt . After we got our ashes yesterday, Dieter Schmitz and I reflected on how we want to transform during this Lent, and your words were very helpful, thank you.
