Mother's Day Challenge: Find a Mom to Be There for That Needs Support

Mother's Day is a holiday that is cherished by most mothers, children and spouses, but there are many women that struggle on Mother's Day for various reasons. Maybe they are a single mom, widowed or divorced, so they know the day will be more of the same, taking care of the kids, and they will not be celebrated or cherished. Maybe they have lost their own mother or child so the holiday is sad for them. My challenge to you is to seek out one of these women and make their day special in some small way.

  • Get them a card and small gift, like a plant or chocolate.
  • Take them out to lunch.
  • Book them a massage, pedicure or manicure.
  • Help their children shop for or make them a gift.
  • Offer to do a chore or errand so they can relax.
  • Offer to babysit.
  • Host a playdate and have coffee and cake while the kids are playing.

It doesn't need to cost a lot or be fancy. It just needs to show them you care. All moms need to be celebrated. So find one to celebrate! The possibilities are endless. Kindness goes a long way toward making someone feel special and loved especially during a difficult time. Knowing someone cares enough to put forth the effort can change the day for them completely.
