The Juul Vape: Here's Why "Juuling" Is a Vaping Trend Parents of Teenagers Need to Know About! by LeslieP

Congratulations, parents, you made it through elementary school and middle school. Great job! What’s next? You think you’ve got it figured out, and they move the goalposts. It’s time to navigate the 2018 teen’s challenges and celebrate his or her independence. In between figuring out the latest phone or video game, we have a new challenge: the vape, the Juul, the e-cigarette.

Marketed toward youth, slim in design, the Juul vapor device looks like a thumb drive. The flavors are tasty and leave no trace of usage. There are age limits and restrictions to purchase, but kids still get them: from their peers, older siblings, online ordering, etc. They bring them to school and “Juul” in the bathroom, library, the back of the classroom, on the bus. But there’s no nicotine in the “juice,” or is there? Is it harmful?

There are studies being done now to address what toxins kids are being exposed to. Also, instead of the original vape intent, to assist people who want to quit smoking, the e-cig is creating addiction issues and possibly leading kids to start smoking. Can we shield our kids from everything that’s harmful? I wish I could say yes, but we can’t. We can be aware of trends, though, and talk to our kids.

There's a reason why they call the new generation, Generation Vape. I see these all over the place, despite teens trying to hide what they're doing. It's very alarming. Thank you for this great information, LeslieP . Parents need to talk to their kids about it. Welcome to our #30Seconds tribe. I look forward to learning and growing with you!

Another piece of information for parents to be aware of is that the law firm of Migliaccio & Rathod currently has an open class action investigation into the juul for deceptive marketing. Given the high adolescent use of this product, paired with its high nicotine content, the juul is creating more addicts than treating the traditional smokers it's supposedly marketed to.
