"Tully": An Honest & Real Story About Motherhood & Perfect for Mom's Night Out by Renee

My friends and I have been all abuzz about the upcoming movie, "Tully," that depicts motherhood in all its glory! With each new trailer comes anticipation and talk of a future night out – a night to laugh and possibly cry about the reality of our lives.

"Tully" is a comedy-drama directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody, who is also known for writing the hit film "Juno." The film stars Charlize Theron, Mackenzie Davis, Mark Duplass and Ron Livingston.

The movie is about Marlo (Charlize Theron), an exhausted mother of three, who is gifted a night nanny by her brother. Marlo has many reservations about the idea of a stranger coming into her house but eventually relents and comes to form a special bond with the young nanny named Tully (Mackenzie Davis). As the movie progresses, viewers will learn about the compromises and frustrations of Marlo’s past and how she became the person that she is – a person that many moms will surely relate to.

Be sure to mark your calendars and plan for your family to have frozen pizza for dinner on May 4, 2018! This video is longer than 30 seconds, but we think it's worth it.

Cannot wait to see this, Renee Herren . Too bad we can't have a 30Seconds viewing party! And "Juno" is one of my all-time favorites, so "Tully" has got to be good.

4x fuel points on gift cards at Kroger so I am buying one to use when we go. Girl’s night and cheaper gas. Win-win for this budget mama.
Renee
Great idea Katie!

Please do not think this movie is a comedy. There are serious issues with and within this film. Be aware before you go. Thats all I'm going to say. Use caution, mothers.
Renee
Definitely not a “Bad Moms”. ;)

This is a spoiler alert but awareness of the real impact this movie may have -due to the topic it covers - on many moms and parents is crucial.

I read this earlier and appreciate you sharing! I think there is definitely room for improvement in regards to how the topic of mental health is approached in the film but I am glad that it is out there to begin with. Baby steps! I’m hoping someone will follow up with a tip about the movie, mental health in general, or even specifically postpartum psychosis.
