Peanut Butter Lover's Day? Who Knew? Here's a Couple Ideas for Snacks & a Peanut Butter Caution! by Holly Budde
I saw on 30Seconds that it's National Peanut Butter Lover's Day. Who knew? I love peanut butter and eat it almost every day. Want to have some fun? Here are couple ideas:
- Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie: It took me years to even consider peanut butter and bananas. Why? It's fabulous!! Mix a tablespoon of peanut butter, one banana and your favorite yogurt for a morning or afternoon pick up. Sometimes I just eat peanut butter and bananas by themselves. I often add natural peanut butter to my meal replacement shake, too.
- Popsicles: Peanut butter, banana, dark chocolate. Blend peanut butter and banana until smooth. Add some dark chocolate chips and pour into Popsicle molds. Or skip the molds and add some ice and a frozen banana or two. Keep it thick and enjoy it as ice cream.
Peanut butter is a great dip for apples, bananas, granola, celery or just eat it right off the spoon. But a word to the wise: some kids are allergic to nuts! Don't share your peanut butter parfaits, smoothies or dips with neighbor kids or friends unless you have verified that they are not allergic to it. These allergies are serious and scary. We could also use National Peanut Butter Day for nut allergy awareness.
