Divorce Was the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me & Here's Why... by Andrea O'Connor

Divorce Was the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me & Here's Why...

I know, it sounds crazy. I am a doting mother to two darling girls, but marriage did not agree with me. My husband was dead weight in my life, not contributing anything. I was basically raising the kids by myself. I was killing myself teaching full time and taking care of the household. I was unhealthy – I weighed 95 pounds at best. I look at pictures of myself and am disgusted. My bones protruding, my face gaunt, I was the picture of stress. I didn't sleep enough. I was miserable.

So, I came to the conclusion that I would be better off on my own. In December 2015, I filed for divorce and my life has improved dramatically! My ex-husband is now forced to take at least some responsibility for our daughters. The time I spend with my girls is all quality time. I take care of my body now – I am strong, inside and out.

I met a man that dotes on me and my girls. He makes me reconsider my staunch position against marriage. While the situation is not ideal, it works for me. In fact, I'd like to think that I have it all!
