As for me? Not even close...I was 30 having spent my 20s doing whatever I wanted. I’ve never drank or partied, but rather just flew by the seat of my pants. His sister was married to my brother and I’d had a crush on him for 2 yrs. Our introduction to each other is another story, then we eloped and got married on a beach, I was barefooted, but not pregnant. My dress cost $400 something and I bought 10 yards of tulle at Walmart and made my veil we designed my ring, a sapphire flanked by a few baguettes costing $3400, which I no longer wear or any because I came too close to ripping my finger off when I was performing one of my woodworking stunts. That was 20 yrs ago last July. Have there been some heated “disagreements”? Has there been a door slammed? Some hurt feeling? And a couple times been to hell and back when my husband contracted group B strep, but lived to tell abt it. Then 7 weeks later having a horrendous car wreck who our daughter, then 8 was also in the car. She walked away with a few scratches, he looked like frankenstein. Yes all the above and our 2 kids now 18 & 14 witnessed some of it, but they’ve also seen us work it out, apologize to each other and do whatever it takes to make it right again. We’ve also been each other’s loudest cheerleader, nurse and have each other’s back. Is it a perfect marriage? No, but none are and if you think there is you’re only fooling yourself. There is love though, that kind where you can’t imagine being without each other and as a friend once told me who got married before me, attraction. She said it’s the glue that will see you through all the above and I can honestly say I more attracted to him today than I was when I first saw him!
