#30Seconds Live: Chicago Toy & Game Fair With YULU Toys Co-founder Thijmen de Schipper! by Elisa Schmitz
Thijmen de Schipper, the co-founder of YULU Toys, dropped by to tell us all about his fun, interactive game called Operation Escape Room at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair (ChiTAG)! The game is for kids ages 6 and up – but we think parents and grandparents will have a blast playing it, too!
Established in 2015, YULU is a brand-driven international creator and manufacturer of toys and games that aim to promote an active lifestyle. YULU is completely committed and focused on creating active play experiences with brands like Helix, Spy Code, Whacky Shots and many more to follow. YULU advocates the fundamental need for cognitive, physical, social and emotional development by creating indoor and outdoor toys and games. They believe that through active play, children nurture their creativity and develop problem-solving skills. They become inquisitive about their surroundings and more interactive with people around them.
In Operation Escape Room, kids get trapped in a room and must solve three different puzzles with their friends to get out. Players work together using skill, strategy and luck to complete three tasks. They'll find the keys, solve the puzzles and set the “captured” player free of the master belt timer. If all tasks are not solved in time, that player stays captured, everyone loses and it’s time to play again.
With all the video games out there, an actual board game where kids play together is a breath of fresh air. Operation Escape Room is only available at Target, so be sure to check it out!
