I am a huge fan of multi-talented actor and producer Bruce Greenwood, best known for his roles in "Star Trek" movies and for playing U.S. presidents, including John F. Kennedy in "Thirteen Days." So it was an absolute delight to run into him over lunch at the Four Seasons in Austin, Texas, as he was sharing the amazing buffet with equally talented actor Carla Gugino

As we wrapped up lunch, my husband and I stopped by their table to say hello. Bruce stood up, shook my hand and, when I told him I was a fan, promptly invited us to the premiere of his new movie! It turns out he and Carla were in Austin for the premiere of Gerald's Game, a Netflix original film based on the novel by Stephen King. This horrifying psychological thriller tells the startling story of a husband and wife who are trying to spice up their marriage, only to have a sex game go very, very wrong. (No spoilers here!)

I'm also a huge fan of Stephen King; I vividly recall looking forward to reading each of his new books as they were published. In my early 20s, I read "Gerald's Game" and was, to be candid, really freaked out. So now that this scary story is a movie starring Bruce Greenwood, I'm pretty excited (and nervous!) to check it out.

While we couldn't attend the premiere at Austin's Fantastic Fest because our flight back home was at that time, we'll be sure to catch the premiere on Netflix, September 29 (with the lights on)! Just watch the trailer and you'll see why!

This video is longer than 30 seconds, but we think it's worth it!
