Tablescapes: Try This Decorating Hack to Add an Inexpensive Pop of Color!

When decorating for home parties, I like to be inspired before selecting a color scheme. So, I often hunt for the perfect gift wrap paper for inspiration. Then, I select coordinating colors to go along with it and that helps to bring out a fun detail, tell a story or set the mood for the party. Sometimes I use a monochromatic roll or, as in my latest need, a pretty roll full of color with a whimsical pattern. This is a fun hack when decorating for a holiday or a child's birthday party!

When setting up, I place the tablecloth down on the table and then I carefully roll out the wrapping paper to form a runner. If it's too wide, just cut it to fit! It makes the table just look a little more festive and provides a great backdrop for platters and other accessories. Plus, nobody notices the dollar you spent on the plastic tablecloth when they notice the beautiful tablescape!

Personally, I like to add florals and use a mixture of colored glass, white ceramic and antique pieces to set out the food and treats. Try my favorite party decorating hack by searching the gift wrap section of any store, especially a discount store or clearance aisle to save even more! Happy shopping!
