Hurricane Harvey Flood Zone: How to Pack a Deployment Box to Help Flood Victims by Tiffany Zook

Hurricane Harvey Flood Zone: How to Pack a Deployment Box to Help Flood Victims

Is someone in your circle heading into the flood zone? Several of our neighbors and friends here in Texas are deploying to help those in need. One Texas Parks and Wildlife wife was quick to pass along a list of items to gather, as she helps prep her husband’s supplies. Get the kids involved in the process; they will feel a sense of pride helping Mom or Dad get packed up to answer the call of duty. In addition to his bag of clothes and uniforms, here is what the waterproof deployment box includes:

  • batteries
  • sunscreen/bug spray
  • Advil
  • hand sanitizer
  • bag of dry socks
  • paper towels/toilet paper
  • blanket
  • jerky and protein bars
  • Chex mix
  • toilet paper
  • Chapstick
  • baggies
  • bleach
  • first aid kit
  • Gatorade packets
  • disposable masks
  • ear plugs
  • trash bags
  • plastic utensils, plates, cups
  • wet/dry bag

Thank you for this list, @Tiffzook. Very helpful. I'm going to print it out and take it with me to the store when I can get there. What part of Texas are you in?
