World Entrepreneurs Day: 1871 Chicago Produces Global Salute to Entrepreneurship Video by Elisa Schmitz
Oh, the places you'll go! Every year on August 21, it's World Entrepreneurs’ Day (WED), a day to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership around the globe. Whether you start a business by yourself or with a team, WED is a day for founders, producers, leaders, innovators. The Alliance of International Business Associations invites the global community to organize events around the world to promote entrepreneurship.
As you may know, 30Seconds.com is based at the amazing tech hub 1871 Chicago, the epi-center of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Windy City. The dynamic and creative team there produced a fun and diverse video that showcases entrepreneurs in startup hubs around the world. During this challenging time in our country, and in our world, it literally gave me goosebumps to see the power that entrepreneurs have to create positive change and be leaders not only in innovation, but also in teamwork and camaraderie.
"Our team solicited videos from around the world to produce a global salute to entrepreneurship," says Tom Alexander, chief operating officer at 1871. "We are one of about 50 organizations in the global Google for Entrepreneurs network, and we brought in clips from many of our partners around the world. The result is an amazing, diverse video that is a great celebration of not only entrepreneurship but 1871's leadership position in the global entrepreneurial community."
Hats off to 1871's Diana Lopez-Obaldo, Paul Matian, Vanessa Yeh, Mick Swasko and Lewis McKinney, for their efforts to inspire entrepreneurs around the world, from our home base at 1871. We're proud to be a part of it!
