"Dream: A Tale of Wonder, Wisdom & Wishes": A Book for the Young, Old & Everyone In Between by Donna John

In 2004, an advance review copy of “Dream: A Tale of Wonder, Wisdom & Wishes” showed up in my mailbox. Another children’s book to read, review and then give to a friend or donate. Little did I know that over 13 years later, this beautifully written, wondrous book that transcends age barriers would still be on my bookshelf and read often – to myself and to my young grandson.

We all dream. And God willing, we all grow up and grow old. “Dream” takes you on a beautiful journey from when you dreamed as a baby to when you’ve left this world and now your dreams revolve around those left behind. The simple yet powerful message will make you stop and think about the dreams you have lived – and the ones you have yet to discover – no matter what stage of life you're in. Life’s hopes, dreams, wonders, colors and magic are woven into a story told through not only free verse, but quotes, illustrations and art from 15 top illustrators in the world. When you read it for the first time, it’s a safe bet you will immediately flip to the first page and start again.

Open your own dream chest and let yourself be whisked through what author Susan V. Bosak describes as “hopes and dreams across a lifetime." Read, give and share this book with anyone you hold dear – or anyone who needs to be reminded to dream.

If you collect books about dreams, this is a must for your collection. I actually gave my copy of this book to my daughter for my grandson when he was born. When I was over their house one day visiting, I saw it in his room and read it. And took it back home with me! lol Bought him his own copy. Miranda Lewis
