Negative Energy: How to Rise Above the Fear & Break Negative Patterns

Inevitably we will encounter people who will attach to our energy in a negative way and we will do the same, personal growth makes us human. My favorite quote, which I repeat as a mantra when needed, is by Albert Einstein: “You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.” I have learned that the only way forward, when judgments are running rampant and behaviors have flared up in response, is self-care and forgiveness.

When you feel the weight of someone who is trying to pull you down to their level, the grip of their criticism, bitter resentment and gossip, remember it is their shadow self that is crying out for help. And if you are the person in this role, forgiveness and compassion is the only way you can neutralize the grip the other person has on you, and self-care is the only way you can rise above the vulnerability and hurt you feel to stay centered in the truth. Healing is not one-sided. Negative judgments and patterns are just beliefs based in pain and fear. By holding the light you will illuminate the truth, which is the reason this dynamic is triggered.

Embrace the lesson. The secret to healing is enlightenment. Take care of yourself first; the oxygen mask will protect you from further harm. Remember your power to rise above, to break the chains that bind you, this will help you to heal and grow, regardless of the other person’s response. There is no need to engage on a negative level and to solidify a negative bond. Draw on your spirit, trust the truth will set you free, then your energy will be free to flow in another direction.

Yes, yes, yes! Great advice, Stephanie Cannoe! This has been an issue for me for a while. I've learned to not respond when someone starts gossiping or talking negative. Eventually they realize I've zoned out and am not responding and they stop. Why do some people feed on being negative? Maybe it becomes a habit and they don't even realize it? Who knows. Thanks, once again, for helping us take a more mindful approach.
