Overthinking Making You Anxious? Here Are 4 Signs That You May Be an Overthinker!

Do you find yourself reading too much into situations or spend too much time trying to make decisions? Here are four signs you are an overthinker:

  • You Ruminate: This means you go over and over the same problems in your head. You pick over situations and conversations that could have happened last night or perhaps several years ago, or may not even happened and are unlikely to.
  • You're Not Emotionally Present: Overthinking things can lead to you spending a lot of time in your head, which means you're not completely emotionally present when you are around others. If you are focusing on your thoughts rather than the person in front of you, it can make them feel that you are not interested in them or what they are saying to you.
  • You Don't Sleep Well: Another sign is that you are sleep deprived because your ruminations are stopping you falling asleep or are waking you up in the middle of the night.
  • You Let Your Anxiety Hold You Back: You really know that overthinking is holding you back when anxiety prevents you from doing things or moving forward in your life. Usually this involves thoughts about all the things that could possibly go wrong.

This is so me, Dr. Sarah Allen . I've been working on it. From picking out stuff at the grocery store to ordering at a restaurant to life decisions. I even overthought the image (yes, I overthink we I buy wine!). Going to check out her tips on how to stop overthinking. Thanks for sharing this!

I'm glad you found it helpful Donna! I think we all overthink to some point but when it leads to feeling anxious it's time to make some changes.
