"When The Bough Breaks" is a feature-length documentary about postpartum depression (PPD) and postpartum psychosis. Narrated and produced by Brooke Shields, this shocking film uncovers this very public health issue which affects one in five new mothers after childbirth. Here are five reasons why you should watch and share this film:

  • It will educate you about the different forms of perinatal mood disorders – ranging from the baby blues to postpartum psychosis.
  • It helps break the stigma associated with maternal mental health. (We are not crazy!)
  • It will help our moms know they are not alone!
  • It will open up a much needed conversation with your partner, family and friends.
  • It will inform you on how to support mothers, fathers and children who have been affected by this very common illness.

Hi Lindsay , I just want you to know that your documentary made a huge difference in my life it showed me how real what I was going thru was! I have always struggled with anxiety never in a extreme way but after the birth of my son my entire life seemed to be a complete mess I knew as soon as they put him on my chest something was wrong ! I have a 7 year old daughter and then came jayce who will be 4 soon and I swear I’m still struggling they tell me it’s not postpartum now because that only last 6months to a year. But my son is almost 4 and I’m still suffering ! But watching your documentary helped me realize it’s a Real Sickness and there are so many moms struggling . I was hoping there was a way I could contact you about the TMS treatments you were doing in the documentary I have been doing research on this and it seems to be a positive treatment I didn’t know if you could let me know how TMS helped or didn’t help you in any way ? Thank you so much for speaking out about this ! It weighs so heavy in my life
