Is Your Child Feeling Down? How to Keep Kids Positive When Life Gets Messy! by Kim Kusiciel

Life is not always easy. It's especially hard for our children to handle negative situations with ease or grace. However, if your kids are feeling down or discouraged I have three tips for you.

  • ALLOW them to feel bad or sad just for that moment. Give them that time.
  • ACCEPT that it is just that, one moment in time.
  • TRANSFORM the negative into a positive by turning it around.

By turning a negative situation into a something positive you are allowing your kids to be grateful for all the good in their life. With this approach, you are also teaching them that when you feel good, good things happen. Remember to model this positive mindset in your own life. You'll be amazed how quickly you and your kids will move on from a bad moment or day after trying out this strategy!
