Work-From-Home Moms: Grab Your Laptop & Work Outside! Here's Why! by Dr. Jamie Krenn
If you’re a work-from-home mom like me, you are facing a laptop for hours in your home counting the minutes until the kids come home. Stuck inside too long? No problem! Grab that laptop and head outside. A study published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology found that spending time outdoors makes people feel more alive, which in turn makes them feel more positive about life.
Seeing nature induces calmness and peace. Work, alone, often will not induce these feelings. However, if you have a hectic schedule, looking up from your laptop or tablet for a few moments and breathing in the outdoor air may make your days a little more bearable – and relaxing. The next time you’re working from home, take my advice, grab a good coffee, a snack and get a few things off your to-do list. Then sit back and take nature in.
