How to Organize Your Kitchen for Back-to-School Success! by Christine Jones
It’s hard to believe that in a few weeks, the kids will be back in school and the craziness will begin. We'll be battling hectic mornings, homework and after-school activity craziness! But, if you organize your kitchen ahead of time, packing lunches and serving after-school snacks will be a cinch! Take a plastic bin that can fit in your fridge. Fill it with:
- apple slices
- cheese sticks
- yogurts
- hummus cups
- mini carrot packs
- pudding cups
Take a separate bin that fits on a shelf in your pantry and fill it with dry snacks. Foods like:
- Skinny Pop popcorn, chips and Goldfish bags
- granola bars
- applesauce and fruit cups
- nuts
- sunflower seeds
Now you, or they, can easily grab items to fill their lunch boxes or to use as after-school snacks. A money-saving tip is to buy big boxes of snacks at Costco or Target and then put individual portions in small ziplocks.
