Trisha Yearwood Dishes on the Food Network’s "Tricia's Southern Kitchen," Hubby Garth Brooks & Super Bowl® Snacks!

Whether you know Trisha Yearwood for her beautiful singing, her delicious cooking or her wonderful acting, you know she is one talented woman. Married to singer Garth Brooks, Trisha is enjoying her role as host on the Food Network‘s “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen,” where she shares family recipes and healthy tips to enjoy lighter versions of Southern cuisine. We had the pleasure of chatting with Trisha live during her show, and she shared some insight into her personal life and love for food!

Q: We love your show! What’s your favorite comfort food this time of year?
“My fave comfort food on a cold day is definitely soup,” Trisha says. “I especially love to make hearty soups like baked potato or creamy tomato bisque with croutons.”

Mindy Hudon (@MindyHudon), a 30Second Mom contributor, agrees. “Soup is my go-to winter meal! Love it!”

Q: Tell us your how you spend a typical weekend with your husband, Garth Brooks!
“We usually chill out on the couch and watch football, then we’ll take our rescue dog for a hike in the woods,” Trisha says. “He gets up early and makes my coffee. Yes, every day!

“Lucky you!” tweets 30Second Mom founder Elisa All (@30SecondMom). “Your hubby sounds amazing, like mine!”

Q: You’re so busy! How do you balance your singing, writing and television work?
“I focus on doing things that I love to do, so it never feels like work,” Trisha says. “I know when one thing gets my full attention, something else gets a little neglected. I try to spread the love!”

“Amen, sister, right there with you!” tweets @30SecondMom. “When you’re passionate
about what you do, it’s not work!”

“Zaaaactly! Everything’s better with a sprinkle of love and a splash of passion!” adds 30Second Mom contributor Joani Plenty (@JoaniPlenty).

Q: Any favorite recipes or memories from your show you’d like to share with us?
“My favorite times on the show have been when family comes on with me,” Trisha says. “My Uncle Wilson, who we lost in 2014, was a fan favorite, and I loved hearing his laughter.”

The episode that aired during our chat featured Trisha’s nephew and his friends, who were preparing for a party for the Big Game. “These boys have been friends for their whole childhoods,” Trisha says. “They are growing up to be fine young men. Remember: Chicks love guys who can cook!”

One recipe Trisha and the boys made during the episode was hot dogs stuffed with jalapenos then wrapped in a homemade cheese biscuit dough.

“OMG! This jalapeno dog looks amazing,” tweets 30Second Mom community member Samantha Marie (@48am1Sam). Get the recipe here!

On this “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen” episode, Trisha also prepared a trio of dips worthy of any football party! Try her Pistachio Cheese Dip, Caramelized Onion Dip and Kim’s Black-Eyed Pea Dip!
