"Chewbacca Mom" Candace Payne Has a Challenge for All of Us - to Heal Our World by Donna John

“Make a better place, ya’ll. Fill it with joy, not hate.”

Those words are from Candace Payne, the remarkable woman who has been spreading joy with her hilarious Chewbacca mask video. Unfortunately, those words come on the heels of the horrific police shootings in Dallas. Candace, who lives 30 minutes from where the tragedy occurred, sat at her piano and sang a heartfelt rendition of Michael Jackson’s song, “Heal the World,” to send a message of hope and ask all of us to do our part to make the world a better place.

Maybe it’s time for every one of us to take a look in the mirror and find a way – big or small – to help make this world a better place. Are you up for it?

I love this so much, @donna. Candace is truly one of a kind, and I love that we can amplify this very important message through our 30Second Mom community. We do need to heal our world, and every one of us needs to spread joy, not hate, and make our global society a better place. Thank you to Candace, and to you! xoxo
