Ready to React to Your Kids’ Behavior? Wait! Do This First!

Before reacting, sometimes the best thing to do is take a breath and think some more. Before taking action, listen some more. Before criticizing, just wait. This is great advice to give our kids, but it works for us adults, too! These words from American writer William Arthur Ward are both inspiring and helpful. We’re never too old to learn from and be inspired by others (even those who have gone before us)!

  • "Before you act, listen.
  • Before you react, think.
  • Before you spend, earn.
  • Before you criticize, wait.
  • Before you pray, forgive.
  • Before you quit, try.”

Well said!

Such great advice, Ann Marie Gardinier Halstead ! I've never regretted waiting to react, that's for sure!

Easy to do, but so hard to remember to do. Thanks for the reminder! I need to post this on my kids foreheads some days. Lol ...
