Lend a Hand to Single Parents: Why Single Moms & Single Dads Are the Real Parenting MVPs

You know who the real MVPs are? Single parents. Single moms and single dads. I think of them as parenting WARRIORS.

All of us are busy and often feel overwhelmed, wondering if we’re doing it “right.” But no one is busier or more overwhelmed than a single mom or dad. On any given day they’re coach, taxi driver, nurse, teacher, judge and cheerleader, with no option of handing the kids off to the other parent for a quick mental health break.

So here’s an idea: Those of us who have a co-parent can lend a hand to our single parent friends. Babysit their kids so they can have a night out or go to the gym or take a shower in peace. Better yet, show up at your girlfriend’s house with a bottle of wine and do her laundry and dishes! It really does take a village, or as I like to say, a community.

This is really a beautiful tip @amghalstead. It's such a good reminder to step outside ourselves and think of others, especially mothers who have the most sacred job on earth.

Thank you, Gail Harris! I appreciate it. I agree- we all need to help each other. I feel such a sense of community among fellow mothers, especially in our 30 Second Mom tribe!

Me, too. With the new site I find it easier to connect and make new relationships. Have a great rest of the day.

Love this! I have met a lot of single moms over the past year at my fitcamps and blows my mind they are juggling it all. Plus love that no matter how busy their days are they make time to take care of themselves inside and out.. They inspire me to not sweat the little things. xoxo <3
