Get Organized Week: Can’t Find Anything to Wear? 4 Tips to Help You Organize Your Closet!

Organizing your clothing closet will save you time searching for outfits and add to your emotional well-being. Uniformity soothes the eye and creates a sense of inner peace. Here are a few rules of thumb to get you started!

  • You wear 20 percent of the clothes in your closet 80 percent of the time. Toss out what you don’t wear.
  • Ask yourself: Do I love it? Do I ever wear it? Is it in style? Do I feel good wearing it? If the answer is no, toss or donate the item. Imagine a closet full of only what you love.
  • You don’t wear what you don’t see. Hang up as many clothes as possible.

BONUS TIP: Turn all of the clothing hangers backwards on the rod. When you wear an item, re-hang it the normal way. At the end of a season, clothes on backwards hangers clearly haven’t been worn. Time to let go?
