Tired But Need to Exercise? 7 Easy Steps to Integrate Yoga Moves for Fitness & Relaxation!

Ever feel exhausted and you just want to lie down, yet you know you would feel better with some exercise? We all do, but that's when it may be most important to move your body. So what should you do? Hit the floor! Seriously. Here are seven steps to integrating yoga moves with very little effort:

  1. Lie down on the floor and get comfortable on your back.
  2. Start by taking some deep breaths.
  3. Bring your knees to your chest and give them a loving hug. Release.
  4. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and lift your chest. Repeat three to six times.
  5. Bend your knee and cross it over your body into a yoga spinal twist.
  6. Come out of that and repeat it on the other side.
  7. Breathe some more and feel the difference!

You'll be feeling better in no time, with very little effort. For detailed instructions click here!

I know, right? So easy, yet so often overlooked in our busy day. I'm going to start doing these moves every day. Thanks, Nicole and Pam!
Nicole DeAvilla
You will really feel the difference Elisa if you do them everyday!
Nicole DeAvilla
Glad it was helpful Pam.

Yes it was! Hey, for a future tip idea (hint, hint) I would love to learn some basic yoga moves to teach my kids ages 4-10! :) And maybe another one geared toward teens! :)
Nicole DeAvilla
You've got it Pam! I will work on those. :)
Jennison Grigsby
Love it! This series helps me to relax before bedtime too :)
Elisa Schmitz
Thanks, Jennison! I think it's a matter of remembering - I know it's so good for me, but I'm so tired, that I just overlook, forget or simply disregard what I know I should be doing to make myself feel better! xo
Nicole DeAvilla
Just before bedtime is a great time to these Jennison.

This is so great. I am a yogini at heart too. Lived in a yoga ashram for a year. Yoga is wonderful. The kind of yoga I do is Kripalu Yoga. The focus on the posture flow as well has holding the postures. That's what makes it so perfect for body and mind.
Nicole DeAvilla
Hey Gail, Thanks. That must been wonderful to spend a year living at an Ashram. I try to get up to the Ananda ashram and retreat center as often as I can.
Gail Harris
Where is the Ananda ashram? It was a wonderful experience living there, and a reason I became a mom in my 40s. While all my friends were having kids, I was doing yoga, lol. We all have our own unique path and I'm glad mine includes yoga.
Nicole DeAvilla
The main Ananda ashram is near Nevada City in California. Their retreat center there is called the Expanding Light. I am glad my path included yoga too!

Love this! Doing this now to relax after the morning craziness getting the kids off to school. Kid free till 11 a.m. 😊
Nicole DeAvilla
Glad you love it Meredith. It is perfect for taking that quick but much needed break for a busy mom. :)

Hey Nicole DeAvilla - great great tip - I'm doing this as often as I can, thanks!
