What can you do to promote your children to be confident and resilient adults so you can rest assured in years to come? Here are a few ways!

  • Encourage independence.
  • Teach problem-solving. Ask them questions so they can be critical thinkers.
  • Help them to re-frame unhelpful negative thoughts into more realistic and constructive thoughts. Promote constructive communication, social skills, empathy and responsibility.
  • Most importantly, be the best role models of resilience possible! Do what you preach. Modelling is a powerful tool in which our children learn.

Resilient (adjective) - able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions. Synonyms: tough, strong, hardy.
