Why Your Intution Can Make You a Better Parent With Gail Harris!

Have you ever wondered what intuition really is, and why it's important? Gail Harris, author of Finding Zoe and the White Bread Wisdom blog, is an award-winning author and intuition coach who says when you trust your intuition, you are trusting yourself. And trusting yourself is a key component of good parenting.

Gail trusted her intuition when it said to share her knowledge with the 30Second Mom tribe! We talked with Gail about using your intuition when parenting, or in creative endeavors or other parts of your life – and she shared real-life examples from her own experiences. Read on…

Q: In your experience, what is intuition?
Intuition is that place inside that connects us to that which is greater than ourselves. Intuition is that place inside that knows what we need in any given moment. Intuition shows us the difference between what we want and what we need. Intuition is that place inside that guides us, that is our own inner compass. Intuition is our inner coach and mentor, that always steers us in the right direction.

Q: Is following your intuition important to you? Why?
Following my intuition is my priority in life; everything falls into place when I trust. Following my intuition allows me to connect into the Divine order of things. When I trust my intuition I am trusting myself. My intuition guides me to make the right decisions. My intuition knows what I need more anyone else.

Q: What happened the last time you trusted your intuition?
My son was angry and I left him alone instead of tying to fix it and he calmed right down. My client cancelled her coaching session. I sent her love through cyberspace and then she uncancelled and we had the session. I asked a friend to come to a presentation with me, and it was exactly what she needed. Yay. My hubby said something that made me madInstead of fighting back I remained quiet and he apologized.

Q: What happened the last time you didn’t trust your intuition?
The last time I didn’t trust my intuition I got a headache. The last time I didn’t trust my intuition the Universe gave me another chance. The last time I didn’t trust my intuition I became very afraid.

Q: How can you distinguish your intuition from your thoughts, feelings and negative inner chatter?
My intuition always says loving things to me. My intuition guides me to always return to love. My intuition led me to become an intuition coach. My intuition led me to become a mother. My intuition always tells me what I need even if it is not what I want.

Q: Give an example of how have you’ve used your intuition in a creative endeavor?
My intuition taught me how to write my first book. Had no clue. My intuition led me towrite Your Heart Knows the Answer. My intuition led me to write Finding Zoe. My intuition helped me to write everything I’ve ever written. My intuition helped me to create my website.

Q: Give an example of how have you’ve used your intuition when parenting?
I always use my intuition when parenting; when to respond to my son and when to remain quiet. My intuition led me adopt my son at birth. It’s a spiritual journey. My intuition led me to send my son to school even though he said he felt sick. My intuition led me to give my son an allowance.
