Bad Weather Days: You Won't Hear "Mom, I'm Bored" if You Do This! by Christine Jones

It's inevitable that there are going to be bad weather days that keep you cooped up indoors. A great way to keep the kiddos from bouncing off the walls is to create a rainy day boredom basket! Take a large basket or container and fill it with an assortment of items. It can be a combination of stuff you've had around the house and some new items. The trick is not to take it out until you really need it. Make them think it's all new. Fill the container with:

• markers
• paper
• stickers
• card games
• maze books
• classic and new board games

A couple of Nerf guns and a Rubix cube and suddenly you won't be in jeopardy of hearing those dreaded words: "Mom, I'm bored!"
