Apple Cider Vinegar Drink Recipe: 5 Reasons to Add an Apple Cider Vinegar Shot to Your Daily Routine by Jan Mostrom

Apple cider vinegar has been touted for years for its multiple health benefits, including antimicrobial and antioxidant effects. Studies have shown that it may:

  • decrease cholesterol
  • increase energy
  • aid in digestion
  • help with weight loss
  • lower blood sugar

According to WebMD, the ancient Greeks even treated wounds with apple cider vinegar. In recent years, apple cider vinegar has been used as a way to lose weight, improve heart health and even treat eczema and dandruff. While research hasn't yet backed up most of these claims, some studies have found that the acetic acid in it may help with a variety of conditions, such as:

Vinegar contains polyphenols, which may help stop cell damage that can lead to other diseases, such as cancer. Organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar contains an element called mother, a cloudy substance made up of proteins, enzymes and good bacteria.

Perhaps the best way to incorporate apple cider vinegar into your diet is to use it in your cooking. You can easily add it to foods like marinades, sauces and salad dressings. You can even drink it, but because of its strong taste and smell, that's not so easy.

Every morning before I eat my breakfast, I mix up this healthy drink. Apple cider vinegar is not easy to get down, but this recipe might help!

Ingredients

Combine all ingredients in a glass. Drink through a  straw to avoid damaging the enamel on your teeth. For maximum benefits, wait 15 minutes before eating anything.

Started this today. I added a tablespoon to cranberry juice. Not a fan of the taste, but hoping I get used to it. I do cook with it a lot and make homemade apple cider vinegar salad dressing often. Going to try your drink, Jan Mostrom . Thanks for sharing.
