Recipe Overload? How to Organize & Preserve All Those Family Favorites!

Have a ton of print recipes to organize? Here's an easy way to preserve the ones you love and tame the rest!

First, divide them into five groups:

  1. Treasured family recipes.
  2. Your own family favorites.
  3. The rest of your own recipes.
  4. Favorites from friends and magazines.
  5. Everything else.

Save group five for rainy-day sorting. Scan the first four piles, saving each in its own folder. Place them in a new "recipes" folder on your hard drive. Put an extra copy of groups one and two's scans with your vital documents for safekeeping.

Next time, it'll be easy to find the perfect recipe!
