A stressful childhood may have health consequences. A study published in JAMA Pediatrics found that kids who had high levels of childhood stress, by their 40s had higher incidences of hardening of the arteries, a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
In my experience working with families, the best method for helping your child deal with stress is for you to learn to manage your own stress. You can’t expect to teach your child to handle stress if you can't.
