Nursing Nonsense: 3 Breastfeeding Myths Dispelled!

There are many misconceptions about breastfeeding. Here are three!

  • You can't get pregnant when breastfeeding. Actually, you can get pregnant as soon as your period starts. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first few months after birth without onset of a period has been shown to reduce hormones for ovulation, but it's still not foolproof.
  • Breasts get saggy with breastfeeding. Actually, saggy breasts have more to do with pregnancy and age.
  • You can't breastfeed if you're sick. Actually, breastfeeding protects Baby with antibodies in the breastmilk.

Now that those breastfeeding myths have been revealed, just enjoy that intimate time with your baby!
