Want Kids to Eat Better? Here’s What Not to Say to Them!

I’ve learned that teaching nutrition isn’t the way to inspire people to eat well. A study confirmed my experience. It found that kids were less likely to try a food and they rated a food as tasting worse if they were told it was healthy.

The most effective way to influence people’s behavior is to simply serve them delicious, healthy food. Don’t say anything about it. It’s tempting to go on and on telling kids WHY they should eat a healthy food. Do your best to resist the temptation. It’s more effective that way!
