Can Room Color Affect a Kid’s Mood? Before You Decorate, Read This!

Decorating your child’s room? Be mindful of the floors, walls and ceilings that surround children, according to “Child Care Design Guide” by Anita Rui Olds. Research shows that color has these effects on children, based on the "hue" and "volume of color" used:

Red = energizing or aggression-inducing

Blue = soothing or depressing

Yellow = motivating or agitating

Green = calming or dulling

Purple = sensitivity and compassion or dark, moody

Orange = sociability and confidence or over-stimulating

Which color is right for your child?
