Beyond Exercise: 5 Tips to Help You Lose Weight in the New Year

Losing weight is top of mind for many when the New Year begins. Keep in mind that hitting the gym is not the only answer. Working out is good for your health and can help to maintain your weight, but exercise alone is not very effective in shedding pounds. To lose weight, you will need to eat fewer calories. 

  • Try to cut back on a few hundred calories a day.
  • When going to a restaurant, eat an apple before dinner to dull your appetite.
  • Skip the bread before the main dish arrives.
  • Eat smaller portions,
  • Ask for a to-go container right away!
